Founded in 1993, BUZZ RICKSONS is a brand dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of flight jackets. Its reproductions are based on the original military specifications, with meticulous attention paid to every detail—from spinning and weaving the yarn to the fabric, military-spec components, and overall silhouette. Each piece is crafted with exceptional care to faithfully recreate the character and appeal of vintage flight jackets.

Rich Character with Lasting Durability
The fabric is a reproduction cotton satin based on the material used by the U.S. Army in 1951. Smooth to the touch with a subtle sheen, it offers excellent durability while balancing the rugged character of military wear with contemporary wearability.



The unlined, single-layer construction also provides a lightweight and comfortable feel. Buttons and loops are placed inside the body and hood for attaching a liner or fur trim, while a hanger loop is positioned beneath the collar. Even these hidden details are faithfully reproduced from the original design.





Authentic Military Details, Meticulously Recreated
The neckline is designed at a clean, moderate height, retaining its military-inspired character while creating a relaxed look without feeling overly rigid.



The hood can be adjusted to your preferred fit with a drawcord. Cowhide stoppers add a practical detail while also serving as a subtle visual accent.



The front features both a zipper and snap-button closure. A Crown zipper, widely used in U.S. military garments during the 1960s, adds a substantial, vintage character and enhances the rugged look. The extended zipper pull is also practical, allowing for easy operation even while wearing gloves.



Epaulettes at the shoulders add a classic touch. The sleeves are constructed from two panels for a three-dimensional shape that follows the natural line of the arms, while added tucks reduce restriction and make bending and extending the arms easier.



The cuff adjuster belts feature fastening components covered in matching fabric, with rubber incorporated inside to achieve a clean, streamlined appearance while providing a secure seal against the elements.



The buttoned flap pockets are generously sized and deep enough to comfortably fit the entire hand. The pocket lining is made from insulating wool, gently warming your hands as you slip them inside.



Drawcords at the waist and hem allow you to adjust the silhouette. The M-51’s signature fishtail hem, split into two tails at the back, is faithfully reproduced, further enhancing its authentic military character.
