Founded in 1816 in Mantova, Italy, ASTORFLEX is a shoe brand specializing in the stitch-down construction method. From design to production, everything is done in Italy. The brand values strong relationships with local craftsmen and factories to deliver high-quality shoes at fair prices.
Two Philosophies
ASTORFLEX follows two key philosophies: "choosing environmentally friendly materials" and "considering shoes as tools for comfortable walking rather than mere fashion items." These principles guide their craftsmanship.
The upper is made of suede leather, characterized by its short nap and elegant texture.
While most desert boots are made from a single piece of unlined leather, this model features a lining for added durability.
The lining and insole are made from calf leather tanned with vegetable tannins.
By using plant-based tanning agents like oak bark and mimosa instead of chemicals, the leather is tanned over time, resulting in durable, highly absorbent material.
Detailing for Superior Comfort
The shoe is crafted using the stitch-down method, known for its soft fit.
The footbed is made from high-cushion memory foam.
Additionally, the midsole is equipped with felt material, which conforms to the shape of your foot over time, improving fit and turning the shoe into a "personalized" pair.
The midsole also features leather tanned with vegetable tannins. While synthetic materials are often used in this part for cost-cutting reasons, this model uses hard leather, which is known for its durability.
Additionally, the use of leather enhances moisture absorption within the shoe.
The outsole is made of natural crepe rubber derived from Brazilian Pará rubber trees, offering excellent cushioning and grip. Even the adhesive used to attach the outsole is derived from natural materials.
Though desert boots originated in England, this model boasts a refined "Made in Italy" aesthetic.
It pairs well with denim, military pants, chinos, and other bottoms, making it versatile enough to complement both casual and smart-casual styles.
