CAL O LINE
CAL O LINE / Hickory engineer jacket
60's A modern take on the 60's engineer jacket. It's a modern silhouette, but with a hickory pattern that's reminiscent of the workers of the era.
The light ounce cotton fabric is perfect for wearing as a cardigan in early spring. The jacket is made from a light-weight cotton fabric, perfect for wearing as a cardigan in early spring. The roots of the engineer jacket
As the name suggests, it has its roots in the working clothes of engineers working in factories. The collar is omitted and the length is shortened for maximum mobility. The slightly boxy silhouette makes it easy to match with cut-and-sewn shirts, making it easy to just throw on and go. Fabric for early spring
The fabric used is 6oz hickory, the equivalent of a shirt. It is the perfect fabric for a light outer layer, somewhere between a cardigan and a light outer layer.
You can expect the colour to fade with wear and you can enjoy your own colour fading.
What is Hickory, the classic work fabric?
Hickory stripes are a type of denim fabric. Hickory stripes are a thick twill weave and are a standard material for workwear. It is said that H.D.Lee originally developed the denim with the stripe pattern "so that the dirt on the work clothes would not stand out".
Reproduction of the work details of the time
Three needle wrapped stitching on the main part of the garment. Triple stitching on the main parts of the garment, cannula, cuffs, etc. All the buttons are stamped with the brand name and, like the fabric, will continue to develop with use.
The brand logo on the breast pocket is a subtle and unobtrusive feature.
