The fabric we had been using was discontinued, but a rare deadstock of "Côte d'Ivoire Cotton" denim was found in JAPAN BLUE’s warehouse, and this special edition was born. It's truly a one-time-only model.
With classic details like the front double pleats, chest pocket, and cinch back, we’ve added a playful twist with a distinctive split back. This limited-edition piece, available only here, is a must-have for denim lovers. Enjoy this exclusive creation!

Japan Blue Jeans is a denim brand from the Kojima area of Okayama Prefecture, a globally renowned denim production hub. Launched in 2011, the brand was created to spread the quality of MADE IN JAPAN denim overseas. The brand combines silhouettes recognized in Europe and America with domestic craftsmanship, offering a fresh perspective on jeans.

Côte d'Ivoire cotton exhibits unique charm that cannot be found in other cottons, with variations in thread creating subtle shades that combine ruggedness with elegance. Unlike industrially processed cotton, it retains the rich expressions of the land, offering a natural feel.
As you wear it, enjoy the deep color fades and the natural texture that emerges with every wear.
Embracing the Spirit of 1st and Playfulness
The neck features a leather patch, and the buttons are adorned with original donut buttons, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Inspired by vintage oversized sizes (46 inches and above), the split back design, which looks like a T-shape, is a throwback to when denim weaving machines had limitations. For larger jackets, the back panels were composed of two pieces, and this two-piece construction has been playfully applied to all sizes.
The Levi's model, often referred to as the "1st," features a pocket with a separate cloth attached to only the left chest. The front is designed with two pleats, providing extra room for movement and comfort.
Utilizing the classic "selvage" technique unique to older weaving machines, the selvage was used to prevent fraying at the edges when denim was woven, symbolizing the timelessness of vintage jeans. This feature is still a favorite among denim enthusiasts.
The waistband is equipped with a copper buckle to adjust the fit, a classic feature representing the 1st model.
Combining the Best of Vintage and Modern Elements
With a slightly wider body width (approximately 1 inch, 2.5cm) and slightly longer length to evoke a vintage feel, this piece achieves a well-balanced silhouette that's easy to pair with a variety of items.
It pairs well with trend-inspired wide pants or slim-fit pants for a sleek, stylish look.
