Based on the iconic 1970s “Wrancher Dress Jeans,” this piece incorporates SKEWED’s unique approach to twisting and reimagining classic silhouettes.
The original Wrancher Dress Jeans, well known in vintage markets, used 100% polyester “Wrancher twill” fabric with a center crease, worn as casual dress slacks.
This updated version blends polyester and cotton to maintain wrinkle resistance and lightness while adding a more natural texture. Instead of a center crease, SKEWED introduces its signature twisted construction, creating a silhouette that never existed at the time.

SKEWED
A new collection from EDWIN, a long-established Japanese denim brand that has been dedicated to craftsmanship since 1961. The name “SKEWed” refers to “twist,” reflecting the natural characteristics of denim fabric. By fusing denim heritage with innovation, the brand creates products that reinterpret its history in a modern form.
Lightweight yet durable, easy to wear all year round
The fabric is a cotton–polyester twill that is slightly lightweight while remaining sturdy and reliable.
The original 1970s dress jeans, the inspiration behind this design, used a 100% polyester fabric commonly known as “Wrancher twill.”
This version retains the wrinkle resistance and light feel of polyester while adding the natural texture and softness of cotton, resulting in a pair that can be worn comfortably across multiple seasons.
Heritage-inspired detailing throughout
The front pockets feature a diagonal opening inspired by Wrancher-style dress pants, allowing for easy hand access.
The front zip features an engraved EDWIN logo, the brand behind SKEWED. In Japan, Wrangler—the origin of Wrancher dress jeans—is also licensed by EDWIN, adding a subtle connection to its heritage.
A SKEWed woven label is placed above the right back pocket, referencing Wrancher dress jeans and adding a subtle vintage touch.
The secret behind the three-dimensional silhouette
Instead of falling straight like traditional trousers, the fabric gently twists along the leg, adding natural depth and structure to the silhouette.
While maintaining the refined character inherited from Wrancher dress jeans, this pair incorporates SKEWED’s unique interpretation of “twist,” creating a distinctive modern silhouette.
