MOONSTAR
Founded in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, with a history spanning 145 years, MOONSTAR is a brand that has mastered the art of creating footwear for professionals, such as chefs and hospital staff. Drawing on this expertise, they have successfully reworked their products for everyday use, maintaining functionality while adapting them for daily wear.







Soft Canvas Material
The upper is made of canvas that is neither too thick nor too thin. Its soft texture fits comfortably to any foot shape, and the cotton material provides a gentle touch, making it stress-free to wear.





Not Just for Design: The Slit
The V-shaped slit not only gives the shoe a sharp look but also helps to evenly distribute the pressure on the upper of the foot, reducing strain while walking. This provides added comfort with every step.



The piping around the edges ensures smooth foot entry.



The heel height is about 2cm. Despite the open design, it fits comfortably for a pleasant walking experience.



The insole offers moderate cushioning, reducing fatigue during walks.





Manufacturing Method for Stress-Free Walking
MOONSTAR uses the "Vulcanized Method" for long-lasting comfort. This technique involves adding sulfur to raw rubber and heating it to create elastic and strong rubber, resulting in shoes with enhanced durability.

The sole is flexible and soft, and the bond between the sole and upper is strong and durable. Furthermore, as the molding and adhesion processes occur simultaneously, the shoes maintain their shape without distortion.

This rare and traditional method, which is labor-intensive and requires special equipment, is becoming less common. MOONSTAR continues this practice at its Kurume factory, ensuring the use of carefully selected fabrics, dyes, and rubber materials to create high-quality footwear that exemplifies craftsmanship.





The rubber sole features fine grooves, providing just the right amount of grip for everyday use.
