The "G4" was born in 1944, a few years after BARACUTA's famous "G9," and is now a well-known second icon of the brand.
It is slightly longer than the G9 and is characterized by the lack of ribbing on the sleeves and hem. Commonly called a "driving coat," it has its roots in its development as a coat that allowed the wearer to drive a car while wearing it.
This time, a new version has been created using a modern high-density cotton typewriter material while maintaining the traditional details of the G4. With its natural wrinkle and bounce, lightweight comfort, and elegant luster, this piece is outstandingly versatile for layering and city wear.

Founded in 1937 in Manchester by the Miller brothers, BARACUTA began by crafting innovative rainwear with excellent water repellency and wind resistance. The G9, originally designed as a golf jacket, went on to become the archetype of the modern blouson. Lightweight Yet Densely Woven Cotton Typewriter Fabric
Crafted from high-density cotton typewriter cloth, this fabric offers a crisp texture and subtle sheen despite its light weight. It folds compactly without bulk—ideal for travel or layering. The front body and upper back yoke feature partial lining of the same material, while the rest of the jacket is unlined.

The “Dog Ear” collar—named for its shape—is a hallmark of the G9. It can be worn standing for a cool look or buttoned for added wind protection.
Originally made for golfers, the raglan sleeves provide ease of movement, and the roomy armholes allow layering over wider-cut tops for versatile wear.
The double-zip front adds flexibility, allowing easy adjustment for different looks or ventilation.
