BARACUTA
BARACUTA / G4 Box Jacket Faux Leather
Following the BARACUTA's masterpiece "G9" created in 1937, the "G4" was introduced in 1944. This time, it has been newly introduced in a faux leather version.
It is light and comfortable without the heaviness and delicacy characteristic of leather. The classic details are retained, but a fresh look is added by changing the material.
It is slightly longer than the G9 and features no ribbing on the sleeves and hem. Commonly called a driving coat, it has its roots in the development of coats that could be worn while driving a car. It is a perfect piece for this time of year that can be used for a wide range of purposes, from daily life to a short outing.

BARACUTA
Founded in 1937 by the Miller brothers in Manchester, England, BARACUTA began as a maker of innovative rainwear known for its superior water-repellent and windproof qualities. The G9 jacket—originally designed as outerwear for golf—became the blueprint for what we now call the “blouson.” Today, it remains a timeless classic, beloved across generations and cultures around the world.
Premium Synthetic Leather with a Natural Touch
This jacket uses supple synthetic leather with a refined sheen and soft texture that moves naturally with the body. It captures the luxurious look of genuine leather while offering effortless comfort and easy maintenance.
The lining features BARACUTA’s signature Fraser Tartan in smooth cotton, combining traditional British style with a sense of understated sophistication.
Impeccable Craftsmanship, Rooted in Tradition
The “Dog Ear” collar—named for its resemblance to a folded canine ear—is one of the G9’s defining design details. Wearing the collar up creates a relaxed, stylish look, while buttoning it enhances wind protection.
Originally created as golfwear, the jacket features raglan sleeves for enhanced mobility and comfort. The roomy armholes make it easy to layer over wide-cut T-shirts or knitwear.
The two-way front zipper allows for flexible styling and easy temperature adjustment.
Side flap pockets with button closures help secure small essentials, while the inner left chest pocket features a buttoned patch design for added practicality.
Buttoned cuffs with gussets let you adjust the wrist fit — wear them closed for a classic, tailored finish or open for a more relaxed feel.
The back features “umbrella yoke,” designed to channel rainwater smoothly while adding visual distinction to the silhouette.
Adjustable drawcords at the hem allow subtle styling changes, from refined and straight to sporty and fitted.
Structured Elegance in a Modern Box Silhouette
Unlike the rounded, sporty profile of the G9, the G4 offers a straighter, more refined cut with clean lines and no ribbing. The result is a jacket that blends traditional tailoring with a relaxed British sensibility.
The supple faux leather enhances comfort and wearability, while pairing effortlessly with shirts, knits, or trousers.

Staff comment
● Staff (165cm / 52kg) Body type: Slim Wearing size: 38 Worn over a long-sleeve T-shirt, it has a slightly relaxed fit overall. The body width provides plenty of room, allowing space for layering up to a lightweight sweatshirt. The sleeves fully cover the backs of the hands, and the hem falls around one-third of the way down the hips. |
● Staff (171cm / 61kg) Body type: Average Wearing size: 38 / 40 Worn over a heavy long-sleeve T-shirt. Size 38 fits just right overall, with generous room in the body. The sleeves reach halfway over the backs of the hands, and the hem slightly touches the hips. Size 40 offers a more relaxed fit and allows layering up to a thin sweatshirt. The sleeves fully cover the backs of the hands, and the hem falls about one-third down the hips. For a fitted look, I’d choose 38; for a more relaxed feel, 40 is ideal. |
● Staff (177cm / 67kg) Body type: Average Wearing size: 40 / 42 Worn over a long-sleeve T-shirt. Size 40 gives a balanced silhouette, similar to the model’s fit, with enough room left in the body for layering. The sleeves reach about one-third down the backs of the hands, and the hem slightly covers the hips. Size 42 feels more spacious with generous width. The sleeves cover half of the hands, and the hem reaches about one-third down the hips. For a regular fit, I’d go with 40; for a looser, more relaxed look, 42 works well. |
