About COTTON RESEARCH CLUB
COTTON RESEARCH CLUB is a blank-body label created by Toyoshima, a long-established textile trading company in Japan.Founded in 2025 under the direction of Kazunori and Kanji Yamanobe (co-founders of A Bathing Ape), the brand revives the materials and silhouettes of the ‘90s through fully domestic production — from spinning to knitting and sewing.
Their mission is to create timeless pieces that transcend age, race, and gender.
Dry and Airy — All Day Comfort
The fabric is 100% USA cotton, with a distinctive dry touch and just the right amount of weight at 6.6oz. It feels substantial yet breathable — thanks to the open-end yarn (also known as air-spun yarn), which traps more air inside the fibers.
This technique gives the tee its crisp texture, excellent breathability, and quick-drying performance. The slightly textured feel makes it perfect for warm weather. And just like a good pair of jeans, it will develop a softer, more lived-in character with every wear and wash.
Built to Last — Inside and Out
The neckline features a classic crew with soft ribbing for easy on and off. A hidden “tape binder” reinforces the shoulder-to-neck seam, adding durability and reducing irritation from stitching. 
The sleeves are cut to cover the upper arms — tailored for a smart, adult fit. Not too loose, not too tight.
Both the sleeves and hem use a single-needle stitch, a vintage-style detail found on American tees from the '90s.
This technique requires a dedicated machine and skilled hands, resulting in a cleaner finish with fewer visible seams.
The body is knit in a tubular shape — no side seams, for maximum comfort and a smooth fit.
