Developed in 2019 after four years of research into the unique characteristics of Japanese and Western feet, RIG FOOTWEAR is a Japanese recovery sandal brand. These sandals are specifically designed for maximum comfort for Japanese feet, and they help reduce stress on the back and hips, making them ideal for standing or exercising. Compared to rigid sandals, they are also suitable for people with back pain or hernias.
“Six-Tape” Perfect Hold
The key feature of the Wadu model is the upper structure, which uses six nylon tapes woven with elastic cords. This provides a comfortable fit that gently wraps around the foot and minimizes movement while walking.
Unlike adjustable belts, there is no need for adjustment, making it easy to wear and remove. Whether barefoot or with socks, these sandals are designed to be comfortable in all conditions.
Three-Layer Design for Comfort
The footbed, midsole, and outsole form a three-layer structure that reduces impact on the feet and hips by about 40%. The midsole, designed like a bucket seat, supports stable walking and provides natural propulsion with a moderate energy return.
The outsole is designed to be durable, making it suitable for both urban streets and light trails.
