SKEWED
Launched in Spring/Summer 2025, SKEWED is a new factory-driven denim project from EDWIN, one of Japan’s most established denim brands since 1961. Rather than creating a simple extension of EDWIN’s archive, SKEWED focuses on one often-overlooked characteristic of denim: the natural twist, or “skew,” that emerges through wear and construction.
The Beginning
Built on EDWIN’s long-standing expertise in sewing, washing, and fabric development, SKEWED embraces subtle distortion as a design principle. By intentionally “skewing” proportions, details, and silhouettes, the brand creates denim that balances authenticity with modern volume, structure, and playfulness.
The Meaning Behind The Name
The name SKEWED itself combines the denim term “skew” with EDWIN, expressing a philosophy of inheriting craftsmanship while shifting it slightly off-center—enough to feel new, without losing its essence.
