Clothes You'll Want to Wear 10 Years From Now
Launched in 2008, ORDINARY FITS is a brand born from its own factory in Kojima, Okayama, a region famous for denim production. With the concept, "Fits now, 10 years from now, and far into the future – your own unique ORDINARY," the brand doesn't chase fast fashion or create throwaway clothes. Instead, they make pieces that naturally become part of your daily life.
The designer, Mr. Kodama, started ORDINARY FITS after gaining denim production skills and knowledge while working independently in Kojima, Okayama.
Kojima has long been a hub for textile manufacturing, known for its expertise in denim and sewing techniques, which have been passed down for generations. By incorporating these traditional skills and blending them with the designer's extensive experience and knowledge, ORDINARY FITS offers a unique lineup that mixes the best of vintage charm with modern trends, earning high praise from denim enthusiasts.
For 15 years, ORDINARY FITS has been deeply committed to denim, walking alongside it in Kojima. Unlike replica brands that focus on recreating vintage designs, ORDINARY FITS continues to make denim from a different perspective.
Aiming for a refined silhouette that complements fashion regardless of gender or age, their signature denim has been loved by many for years. Now, in July 2023, ORDINARY FITS launched the "DENIM PROJECT", which takes their existing models and reimagines them for a global audience.
By thoroughly analyzing vintage Levi’s denim, which is considered the origin of denim, they studied each era's sewing techniques and details to see how they could adapt them into modern fashion. Through countless discussions, they explored what a new kind of denim could be, filtered through the ORDINARY FITS lens, and different from replica jeans.
Revisiting everything from materials and stitching to processing and silhouette with a fresh perspective, they’ve poured their knowledge, experience, and passion for denim into creating a new denim collection, which now stands as a new classic for the brand.
Using 14oz selvedge denim fabric, the material is tightly woven to maintain a sturdy texture that won’t lose its shape even after multiple washes. You can enjoy wearing it as it ages beautifully over time.
In November 2022, ORDINARY FITS completed its own sewing factory in Kojima, Okayama, called "YARD -ATELIERS-". This factory brings to life the vision they had since the brand’s inception—creating clothes with care and passion, all done by their own hands. The core of the brand, their denim, is crafted here. Each piece is meticulously sewn by skilled artisans, with the hope that it will become a cherished item for someone.
Each item is available in two styles: one-wash and used. For the used style, skilled craftsmen at one of Japan's top processing factories carefully hand-finish each pair, giving them a unique, authentic used look.
Inspired by vintage Levi’s denim, they’ve recreated the natural texture and fading. By intentionally avoiding skew (a treatment that prevents twisting), the legs will naturally twist over time as you wear and wash them, a distinctive characteristic of vintage jeans.
Additionally, the brand deliberately skips singeing (a process that removes excess fibers for a cleaner look), leaving a slightly fuzzy finish that gives the jeans a vintage feel. The denim has a rough, textured appearance, and as you wear them, you can expect beautifully vintage-like fading to develop!
Standard Denim One-Washed
The design pays homage to the later model of the Levi’s 501 '66, but with a more relaxed silhouette that has less taper, resulting in a natural straight fit. When worn, the jeans fall straight from the knees down, creating a clean, straight line that’s very appealing. It’s a simple and timeless pair of jeans.
One of the special details is the back pocket’s interior, where the stitching has been changed from the usual single stitch to a chain stitch, a feature that can only be found on vintage denim.
The one-wash 14oz selvedge denim is versatile and smart enough to wear year-round, from casual to business-casual settings.
Standard Denim Used
The denim fabric has a rich texture with natural variations, carefully woven on vintage shuttle looms, just like the denim from that era. The high-quality whiskering, fading, and color variations are all recreated by skilled craftsmen at our factory in Okayama, through meticulous handwork. Enjoy the unique character that only hand-finishing by experienced artisans can bring, something no machine can replicate.

The "Second" work jacket, which supported America’s golden era, features the same basic design as the "First," including front pleats that provide extra room around the chest for easier movement. However, it adopts a more symmetrical design with flap pockets on both sides of the chest. Additionally, the body width and armholes have been made roomier, creating a modern yet comfortable jacket that's easy to wear.
