NANGA
Founded in 1941 in Maibara, Shiga Prefecture, NANGA is a Japanese down manufacturer committed to domestic production. Known for using safe, high-quality down and original sewing techniques, it has earned a reputation as one of Japan’s leading brands for winter outerwear.

High-performance nylon with excellent breathability, warmth, and water resistance
AURORA-TEX is a waterproof, breathable material designed to protect down from moisture—its greatest weakness—without sacrificing comfort. This high-performance nylon uses a microporous polyurethane waterproof coating that ensures superior warmth, breathability, and water repellency, allowing you to move freely without worrying about the weather.
Durable ripstop fabric resistant to tearing
The high-performance nylon is woven in a ripstop pattern to enhance tear strength compared to standard nylon. The result is a durable fabric that withstands active use and maintains its form over time.

Warm enough for Japanese winters
The down is sourced from Spanish white ducks. The quality and performance of down depend not only on the species but also on the environment and the length of the rearing period. Raised in spacious environments with modern facilities, Spanish ducks produce soft, supple feathers with excellent insulation, elasticity, and warmth—providing practical comfort without unnecessary bulk.
The reason behind the “non-pack” construction
To achieve a lighter and more refined silhouette, NANGA uses a “non-pack” method in which down and feathers are filled directly between the outer and inner fabrics. As a result, you may notice some feathers visible on the fabric surface or coming through the seams—these are natural characteristics of the manufacturing process and do not indicate any defect.
Signature NANGA craftsmanship
The sleeves are stitched in a way that prevents the down from being compressed, ensuring consistent warmth and volume. This thoughtful construction reflects NANGA’s deep understanding of down and dedication to function and comfort.

Details that seal out the cold
On especially cold or windy days, pull up the hood and tighten the drawcord to block out the chill. The front zipper uses a water-resistant, double-zip design to enhance waterproofing and reduce drafts. Adjustable cuffs and hem drawcords further minimize the entry of cold air.
*Please note that due to its water-resistant double-zip construction, the zipper may feel slightly stiffer compared to standard zippers.

Equipped with side hand pockets and a chest pocket, the jacket also features a hand warmer inside the chest pocket—keeping your hands comfortable even in cold weather.

A smooth, comfortable silhouette
This season’s model features a slightly more relaxed fit, allowing room for layering over sweatshirts or knitwear. The sleeves are shaped to follow natural body movement, offering a relaxed feel without any sense of restriction.

●Staff (165cm / 52kg) Body type: Slim Wearing size: S Fits loosely over a lightweight sweatshirt. The length completely covers the hips, and the sleeves reach the back of the hands. With its relaxed width, it can also be comfortably worn over a thick knit without feeling tight. |
|
●Staff (171cm / 61kg) Body type: Average Wearing size: S/M This 2023 model runs about one size larger than before. Size S offers a slimmer fit, while I chose size M for a more relaxed silhouette. Worn over a lightweight sweatshirt, there’s still room around the body. The sleeve length reaches slightly over the back of the hands, and the hem just covers the hips. Size L felt a bit too large. |
|
●Staff (177cm / 67kg) Body type: Average Wearing size: M/L For a slim-to-regular fit, size M works best. Size L gives a fit similar to the model shown in the photos. The length covers the hips, and the body width allows layering over a thick sweatshirt without feeling constricted. The sleeves reach the back of the hands, giving an overall well-balanced fit. |
|
●Staff (181cm / 80kg) Body type: Broad / Athletic Wearing size: L/XL Size L offers a trim-to-regular fit, but I chose XL for a relaxed silhouette that layers easily over thick sweatshirts. The length fully covers the hips, and the sleeves extend slightly over the back of the hands. |
