BUZZ RICKSONS
Founded in 1993, BUZZ RICKSONS is a brand dedicated to preserving the history and spirit of classic flight jackets. Each piece is meticulously recreated based on original military specifications—spinning the yarn, weaving the fabric, sourcing authentic military-grade parts, and shaping the silhouette with uncompromising precision. Every jacket embodies craftsmanship and faithfully revives the character of true vintage flight wear.

A symbol of rugged warmth: Jungle Cloth × Alpaca Wool
The outer shell uses the same high-density cotton grosgrain—known as “Jungle Cloth”—that was adopted during WWII. In short, it is an exceptionally durable cotton fabric with a firm, structured feel that effectively blocks winter winds.
This plain-weave fabric is made with fine warp threads and thicker weft threads, tightly woven to create bold, pronounced ridges that lend the jacket its rugged presence.
The lining is crafted just as it once was—using luxurious alpaca mohair wool pile. The long, lofty alpaca fibers are loop-knitted to trap ample air, resulting in exceptional warmth.
Alpaca naturally contains oils that give it a soft, smooth touch with far less “itchiness” compared to typical sheep’s wool. It also offers excellent moisture-absorption and release, preventing humidity buildup inside the garment for a more comfortable wear.
Thoughtfully crafted details that impress true vintage enthusiasts
Stand the collar and secure the chin strap to wrap yourself in warmth—no scarf required.

The front placket combines a wide flap with buttons and a zipper for dependable wind protection. The wide flap keeps cold air from entering through the zipper, while the elongated leather zip pull is easy to grasp even with gloves on. Look closely and you’ll find a TALON zipper—an impressive level of historical accuracy.
Four underarm eyelets allow built-up moisture and heat to escape.
The large hand pockets on both sides are generously sized so you can slide your hands in even while wearing gloves.
The inner sleeves feature a two-stage rib system that narrows toward the wrist, improving fit and sealing out cold air.
Inside the underarm and hem are loops originally used to thread life-jacket cords—a detail that adds a quiet sense of historical romance. A drawcord at the hem blocks cold air from below and allows you to adjust the silhouette.
The “US NAVY” marking across the back speaks softly of its heritage and the atmosphere of the era.
A silhouette that naturally fits the modern wardrobe
The slightly cropped WWII-era silhouette translates seamlessly into contemporary style. Pair it with your chinos or denim for a timeless military-inspired, Americana-inspired look.

●Staff (165cm / 52kg) Build: Slim Wearing: Size 36/38 Worn over a thick long-sleeve tee, the fit was just right. The shoulders fit neatly, and the body had a bit of ease. The sleeves fully covered the backs of the hands, and the hem reached about halfway over the hips. When layered over a slightly thicker lightweight sweatshirt, the shoulders and body felt tight, so sizing up by one is recommended. |

●Staff (171cm / 61kg) Build: Average Wearing: Size 40 A just-right fit when worn over a long-sleeve tee. Since the garment is designed for warmth with a close fit, thinner layers—long-sleeve tees or lightweight sweatshirts—work best. In size 40, both the shoulders and body fit comfortably without tightness. The sleeves cover the backs of the hands, and the hem falls around the midpoint of the hips. |

●Staff (177cm / 67kg) Build: Average Wearing: Size 42 The fit matched the model’s sizing. Both the shoulders and width fit closely without feeling restrictive. If you prefer a bit more room, size 44 would work, though the sleeves would then extend to the fingers. Even with thin layers underneath, the piece offers excellent insulation. |
