Born in Japan in 2019 after approximately four years of development and research into the differences between Western and Japanese foot structures, RIG FOOTWEAR was created as Japan’s first recovery sandal brand. The brand develops footwear designed to provide the most comfortable fit for Japanese feet.

Its products are ideal not only for relaxing after standing work or exercise, but also for everyday use by those who experience back discomfort or require reduced stress on their feet and lower body compared to traditional hard-soled sandals.

Blocks Cold Air and Keeps Feet Warm
The upper uses insulating synthetic material to block out cold air from the outside. A water-repellent finish provides practical protection against snow and rain while helping prevent excessive moisture buildup.



The inner lining features a heat-generating brushed material that delivers warmth from the moment you put them on. By gently warming the feet and supporting circulation, they also help relieve fatigue caused by cold conditions.





High-Performance Design That Supports Feet and Makes Wearing Easy
Featuring a lace lock system that allows quick, one-touch adjustment without the need to tie shoelaces. Compared to previous models, the adjustment range has been expanded, allowing a more precise fit from the heel to the toe area.



The adjustment points are positioned horizontally to reduce pressure on the top of the foot, where many blood vessels are located. This helps prevent restricted circulation and provides a comfortable fit even during extended wear.



The sole features a three-layer construction consisting of a footbed, midsole, and outsole. The footbed, which directly contacts the foot, uses highly responsive EVA material with enhanced arch support. Similar to the stimulation of a bamboo foot roller, it helps lift fallen arches caused by fatigue and supports recovery by encouraging circulation.



The midsole is designed to gently wrap around the foot while maintaining the ideal firmness. It prevents excessive sinking, reduces instability during walking, and helps minimize unnecessary muscle strain that can lead to fatigue.



The outsole features deeper lugs for improved traction compared to standard sneakers. A waterproof TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) layer wraps the lower 2cm of the sole, helping prevent snow and water from entering underneath. Despite the elevated sole height, the stable construction provides confidence when walking on ski slopes or uneven parking areas.



The heel uses a soft, highly resilient material that allows easy entry without worrying about crushing or damaging the structure. The low-cut design makes slipping them on and off effortless, whether inside a vehicle, beside a car, or when changing into boots.
