DESCENTE / Mizusawa Down
A Japanese sportswear brand specializing in the development and production of performance apparel. Through its “ALLTERRAIN” collection, DESCENTE draws on decades of experience in sportswear to create functional designs suited to a wide range of settings.

A one-of-a-kind high-performance fabric
The outer fabric features “DERMIZAX,” a high-performance material developed by Toray. Its advanced membrane delivers exceptional waterproofing, water resistance, breathability, and resistance to condensation.
Excellent 4-way stretch and a supple texture provide outstanding freedom of movement, while the marshmallow-like softness against the skin creates an exceptionally comfortable wearing experience unlike any other.
Another highlight is its exceptional color rendition, a quality rarely found in waterproof, breathable fabrics. Even black can be rendered in a deep, sophisticated matte tone, giving the fabric a rich and distinctive appearance.
+5°C warmth by converting light into heat
The lining features DESCENTE’s proprietary “HEAT NAVI” heat-retention system. It absorbs nearly all wavelengths of light and converts them into heat, providing approximately 5°C more warmth compared to conventional materials.
Not only on sunny days, but also on cloudy days, the system efficiently converts even small amounts of available sunlight into heat, helping maintain comfortable warmth outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
One of the weaknesses of conventional down jackets is the stitching, which can create points where water can penetrate. Mizusawa Down eliminates stitching on the outer fabric through heat-bonded, non-quilted construction. In areas that require sewing, such as the sleeves, the seams are sealed with seam tape on the inside to help prevent water penetration, significantly enhancing the jacket’s water resistance.
A certification that is kind to both birds and people
This jacket uses traceable 750FP French white duck down certified by “DOWNPASS.”
The certification guarantees that the down is sourced in accordance with animal welfare standards and that strict quality standards are maintained throughout the process.
※You can verify the certification by entering the code on the dedicated website. For this model, the registration is in English, so please select “EN.”
The “Para Hood System” allows the hood to be stored compactly, helping prevent water and snow from accumulating around the hood area. Water-resistant zippers are used in key areas to further enhance water resistance.
The high-neck design helps keep cold air out, while down insulation in the neck area helps retain warmth. Details such as the inner rib-knit collar, double-layer cuffs, drawcords inside the side pockets, and powder skirt inside the hem help block wind, retain warmth, and improve the fit.

The "Dual Zip Ventilation" system on the front zipper uses two rows of zippers with mesh fabric between them, allowing fresh air to enter while releasing excess heat and moisture trapped inside the jacket.
Pit zips are also incorporated under the arms to further enhance comfort.
Improvements in the 2025 model
Inner pockets have been added to both sides of the chest, while a removable key chain provides additional storage options.
The double cuffs have been updated with a design that provides a softer feel against the skin and improved fit.
Drawing on years of accumulated expertise, the cutting pattern is carefully engineered to accommodate natural human movement. The result is a stylish silhouette that maintains excellent freedom of movement without compromising its refined look.
