WHEEL ROBE
A shoe brand born in Japan in 2015. By reconstructing the good old American universal design and traditional details in "Made in Japan", we have achieved excellent comfort for Japanese people.
Leather used by the world's top brands
The upper is made of Horween's heavyweight chrome excel. The leather is produced using a mixed vegetable and chrome tanning process that has remained unchanged for over 80 years, and since it was originally developed for boots, it is relatively water resistant and durable.
The leather used for leather shoes is generally about 1mm for business use, but this one uses 2.2mm leather. The thick and strong leather is easy to understand when you touch it, and it will not lose its shape even if you use it for a long time.
Traditional manufacturing method for sturdiness and high stability
These shoes are made with the Goodyear welt method, which is a complex and heavy manufacturing process.
The term "Goodyear" is derived from Charles Goodyear, who invented the shoe-making machine and fine leather (welt) in the late 19th century, and is a traditional manufacturing method used for high-end shoes.
This method involves covering the processed inner sole with the upper leather, sewing it together with the fine leather (welt), and then sewing around the outer sole.
Because they can be filled to the brim, they have the advantage that they do not tire easily even after long hours of walking. They are hard to put on at first, but as the wearer wears them, the filling conforms to the shape of the sole and the fit improves.
Slip-resistant and functional heel
The heel is made of "BOOTS FACTORY HEEL". The design respects the "Cat's Paw," which was widely used in boots in the 1940s, but incorporates many Japanese elements.
The circular shape is decorated with a hemp leaf pattern, and the outside has a design reminiscent of a karesansui (dry landscape garden), providing a good grip. The structure is highly functional and slip-resistant, even on rainy days.
