UNDERSON UNDERSON
An underwear brand launched by MASH GROUP, which also operates Cosme Kitchen and Snidel, in 2019. The concept focuses on "Japanese undergarments made from washi (Japanese paper)," incorporating washi fibers in many products to maximize their natural properties such as absorbency and quick-drying capabilities.
Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship and Technology in Washi Fabric
The fabric uses "WASHIFABRIC" 1/56 bare jersey, woven with fine yarn to create a lightweight texture. It offers a smooth, silky touch unique to washi, a light wearing sensation, and excellent stretch for comfort.
Moreover, the use of washi directly on skin-contact areas provides outstanding breathability, preventing a sticky feeling even when sweating, ensuring comfortable wear.
Like cotton, these garments are machine washable at home, emphasizing easy care. To fully maintain the functional properties of washi, it's recommended to use non-silicone detergents during washing.
Washi and the Cycle of Forest Environment
The globally renowned multi-functional material "WASHIFABRIC" originates from environmentally conscious production and processing. Fully grown trees, which absorb CO2 at reduced rates, are processed into building materials, with leftover parts becoming raw materials for WASHIFABRIC.
Under appropriate forest management, young trees continue to absorb more CO2, producing oxygen, thus completing the cycle of forest environmental sustainability.
