A new collection from EDWIN, one of Japan’s most esteemed denim brands since 1961. The name “SKEWed” refers to the natural twisting characteristic of denim, a feature reflected throughout the line. Blending heritage with innovation, SKEWed delivers modern pieces that reinterpret the rich history of denim.
The allure of left-hand twill denim
Crafted from the same left-hand twill denim Wrangler has used since 1948, this fabric is known for its distinctive blue tone. By intentionally lowering the dye concentration, it achieves a one-of-a-kind “RODEO BLUE.”
As the jeans are worn, the shallow dye gradually fades into a rich, vintage-like patina—developing differently from the deep indigo seen in most denim.
The belt loops—two in the front and five in the back—total seven, far more than usual. This detail originates from cowboy culture, ensuring a belt stays firmly in place even during intense movement on horseback.
The seams use wrap stitching for added strength, providing durability that withstands demanding activity.
The small front pocket reflects its Wrangler heritage. Originally designed to hold a pocket watch, it’s a nod to the garment’s roots as rugged workwear.
The leftward twist characteristic of vintage denim, along with the three-dimensional detailing throughout, is amplified by SKEWed’s skew-processing technique.
