The inside is made of grid fleece and the outside is made of plenty of fleece for a light and warm fit. Furthermore, the inside of the hand pockets are also made of grid fleece to provide excellent heat retention.
The fleece material adopted by the U.S. military is the only one with proven warmth. It can be worn as outerwear at the change of seasons or used as innerwear in midwinter, and is a dependable item from fall to early spring.

My shoulders are on the broader side, but even with Size M, there’s a slight drop in the shoulders, showing it’s generally an oversized design.
