Your Tee, Your Story
- Limited Indigo Collaboration

For the first time ever, Cotton Research Club, INDIGO CLASSIC, and Haku-Clothing have come together to create a truly one-of-a-kind T-shirt.

Body: CRC’s signature 6.6oz tubular jersey, knit in Wakayama, Japan from premium open-end USA cotton. Relaxed fit. Vintage-inspired single-stitch construction.

Dye: Hand-dyed with natural Japanese indigo by the artisans at INDIGO CLASSIC in Nara.

Each piece is carefully crafted from start to finish in Japan. Only 100 pieces will ever exist. No two are alike.

The Brands Behind the Collaboration

  • Indigo Classic

    COTTON RESEARCH CLUB
Inspired by youth culture from the 1950s to 1990s, CRC designs timeless tees meant to transcend age, trend, and generation. Every step — from spinning to knitting to sewing — is completed entirely in Japan, elevating cotton to its highest form.

  • Indigo Classic

    INDIGO CLASSIC
INDIGO CLASSIC is one of Japan’s few workshops that handles the full indigo process in-house — from growing indigo plants to brewing their own dye, and hand-dyeing each garment. Their mission: to preserve the fading art of aizome (Japanese indigo dyeing) for future generations.

The Fabric:
Crafted for Comfort & Durability

Made from a 6.6oz heavyweight USA cotton, open-end spun for a natural, airy texture, this T-shirt offers a unique softness that improves with every wash. Crafted in Wakayama, Japan, the fabric is designed for lasting comfort and a lived-in feel, much like a vintage tee from the '90s.

  • Premium USA Cotton: Breathable, moisture-absorbing, and quick-drying for year-round wear.
  • Tubular Construction: Seamless design for comfort and a smooth, natural drape.
  • Dry, Airy Feel: The perfect balance of structure and softness that develops character over time.

Built to last and soften with each wear, this fabric ensures a timeless, durable T-shirt that only gets better with age.

A Piece That Evolves with You

This isn’t just a T-shirt — it’s a living, breathing piece of art that gets better with every wear. The natural indigo dye deepens and evolves over time, but the best part is that wearing it regularly helps maintain that rich, vibrant color. Each time you put it on, it gains more character, becoming even more uniquely yours.

Pro Tip: To keep your tee looking fresh and vibrant, wear it often. Regular wear helps preserve the rich, bold color. If it's been stored for a while, simply soak it in warm water to refresh the tone — the water may turn a little yellow, but that’s just part of the natural process. Keep wearing it, and the vibrant beauty will last for years to come.

The Indigo Dye Options

Each tee is individually hand-dyed, resulting in subtle variations and textures unique to every piece. You can select from 4 indigo patterns:

  • Indigo
  • Deep Indigo
  • Gradation
  • Murazome (Japanese tie-dye inspired)

Note: Due to the nature of hand-dyeing, no two pieces will be exactly alike. Murazome and gradation patterns especially will vary — that's part of what makes each piece truly one-of-a-kind.

What is AIZOME?

Aizome, or Japanese indigo dyeing, is a centuries-old traditional craft that uses the indigo plant for dyeing fabric. The process requires skill and patience, as the dyeing solution must be carefully maintained and can only be applied to garments one by one. As a natural dye, the process and the results are uniquely time-consuming and hands-on, giving each piece its individual character.

INDIGO CLASSIC takes pride in growing its own indigo and brewing its dye, ensuring a deep and transparent indigo color. Their artisans dedicate themselves to the craft, creating a truly unique “living indigo” that evolves over time.

The artisans' passion for creating “timeless beauty” through this craft is evident in every piece they create. Enjoy a modern take on this ancient art with the beautiful, enduring hues of aizome.
