The tastefulness of an old weaving machine
This fabric is made of "HDCS (super dense jersey slub cotton). The fabric is produced in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, by skilled craftsmen using old-fashioned looms from the Taisho era.

It is knitted slowly, about 1/3 of the speed of the cotton fabric used for ordinary T-shirts. The result is a fabric with a stiffness and weight. The slub yarns are drawn together during the knitting process to give the fabric a washed-out, uneven texture.
The difference in upbringing makes for gentleness
The material is high quality US organic cotton. We only use cotton that has been carefully grown without resorting to chemical agents. This difference in upbringing and manufacturing results in a difference in gentleness when the garment is finally made. The organic cotton is spun into slub yarns at our spinning mills in Japan. The unevenness of the slub yarn is a characteristic feature of the fabric, which regulates ventilation and warmth. In autumn and winter, the yarn is warm.
