Founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, PUMA is a global sports brand. It manufactures and sells a wide range of products including sports equipment, shoes, sportswear, and fashion items.







Origin of Terrace Style
Terrace style originated in the late 1970s in Manchester and Liverpool, England. It refers to the fashion style adopted by enthusiastic football fans who gathered in the standing areas (terraces) behind the goalposts in football stadiums, incorporating sportswear into their fashion choices.





Suede with short pile and fine grain is used for the upper. The elegant suede body, combined with the leather formstripes running through, creates an impressive finish.





A Legendary Model Known to Few
Developed as indoor training shoes, "PALERMO" became widely known in response to the excitement of the terrace style, despite being on the market for only about a year from 1981 to 1982.

At that time, PUMA was releasing shoes named after famous European cities, and this model was named after the city of Palermo, located on the island of Sicily, Italy.



A foil-printed signature tag is laid out on the quarter. This detail was devised when the original model, made of nylon, was developed.





Functionality Derived from Training Shoes
The T-shaped cap toe is a design unique to training shoes. It not only protects the toes but also the toe cap, which extends around the arch, helps prevent instability.





The PUMA cat on the heel window adds an accent.



The outsole adopts the design developed for the handball shoes "VLADO STENZEL" at the time. The suction cup-like tread pattern provides excellent grip not only on the court but also on the field.
