This is a non-wax type jacket from the “Bedale” model, one of the most popular and representative items in the BARBOUR lineup.
A special film is applied to the reverse side of the cotton-based fabric to ensure water resistance. This item can be worn with peace of mind even by those who do not like wax jackets.
The silhouette has been revised from 2024, and a comfortable fit has been added, so you can comfortably wear it over a jacket. Please enjoy it in various coordinates, from casual to suit styles.

About BEDALE
Among Barbour’s iconic models, the "BEDALE" stands out as a favorite. Inspired by short jackets popular in France during the 1980s, it was developed by then-chair Margaret Barbour as a versatile piece for equestrian wear.
While carrying the design elements of the 1960 "SOLWAY ZIPPER" hunting jacket, it was updated to be more practical for horseback riding.
Refined Two-Layer Fabric
Crafted from a cotton-polyester blend, this jacket features a highly water-resistant two-layer fabric with a special film backing. Its subtle sheen and structured feel offer a sophisticated look. The non-oil fabric ensures comfort without the stickiness or scent of traditional waxed fabrics.
Inside the body, a 100% cotton tartan lining offers a touch of traditional style. Tartan, a classic Scottish pattern, adds a sense of refinement and timeless appeal.
The polyester-lined sleeves provide a smooth fit, making it comfortable to wear over layers.
Functional Details
The collar is lined with fine corduroy for an elevated touch. For windy days, secure the collar with the chin strap to keep warm.
The front closure is a signature Barbour double zip with snap buttons, offering a classic, layered look.
Underarm ventilation eyelets provide breathability, while ribbed inner cuffs keep out the wind.
Slash pockets are conveniently placed for easy access, with large flap pockets for additional storage.
An interior pocket on the left chest provides added storage, perfect for outings when a bag isn’t needed.
Versatile Fit
Updated from last year’s slim fit, this jacket has a relaxed silhouette that layers easily over tailored jackets and blousons.
Its length is carefully designed to cover the hem of jackets, making it an ideal pairing for suit or jacket styles.
An optional "Zip-In Fur Vest" can be attached as a liner.

●Staff (171cm/61kg) Body type: Average Wearing: Size 38/40 Size 38 offers a comfortable yet sleek impression, with a length that covers the hips and sleeves that reach the base of my thumbs. Size 40 provides more room in both the body and shoulders but doesn’t feel overly large. The sleeves cover the backs of my hands, and the length adequately covers the hips. With a broad chest, I’d choose size 40 for wearing over a jacket, while size 38 is ideal for a simple, tailored look. |

●Staff (177cm/67kg) Body type: Average Wearing: Size 40 I was able to wear it with a silhouette similar to the model. There is enough room to comfortably layer over a jacket. If you prefer a more generous fit, I recommend sizing up to size 42. |
