BARACUTA
BARACUTA / G9 Box Jacket Cotton
The "G9," a model beloved by global stars such as Steve McQueen, Elvis Presley, and Ken Takakura, is a true icon.
As a staple of the Harrington jacket (swing top), this classic piece has been reworked with a slightly relaxed silhouette for a contemporary fit.
Iconic details like the dog-ear collar, wide armholes, and shorter length remain intact, but with modern sizing that suits today's fashion trends.
Perfect for long-time G9 fans, as well as those new to the style, this jacket pairs wonderfully with your favorite chinos or denim pants, allowing you to embrace the Ivy look effortlessly.

Roots of the G9
The Miller brothers, who founded the brand, were both passionate golfers. In 1937, they created the prototype of the G9, inspired by the British Army jumper, as golf-appropriate wear. The name "G9" is derived from the word "Golf."

BARACUTA
Founded by the Miller brothers in Manchester, UK, in 1937, BARACUTA began by creating waterproof and windproof rainwear, a revolutionary product at the time. Since the introduction of the G9 as a golf outerwear, it has become the prototype for what is now known as a bomber jacket, loved by people all over the world.

Traditional Fabric Feel Maintained
The body is made from a slightly dry cotton fabric, maintaining the vintage-inspired color palette.

The lining features a traditional tartan check pattern, adding a subtle yet stylish touch when the jacket is unzipped.

The sleeve lining is made of 100% polyester, providing a smooth fit.

Silhouette with Definition
The wide body with a consistently sleek length provides a silhouette that works well with both slim and wide pants. The fabric’s volume and the ribbed cuffs and hem create a well-defined silhouette.
Depending on the choice of bottom or inner layer, you can enjoy a range of styles, from smart to casual.

Unchanged Details from the Past
The "dog ear" collar, named for its resemblance to a dog’s drooping ears, is an iconic detail of the G9. When the collar is raised, it creates a relaxed look, and when the buttons are fastened, it enhances wind protection.

Originally designed as golf wear, the G9 features raglan sleeves for ease of movement around the shoulders. The armholes are also wide enough to comfortably wear a wide T-shirt underneath.

The front double zipper allows for versatile styling options by adjusting the openness.

The side pockets feature button-flap closures to securely store items, while the left chest has a patch pocket with a button.

The ribbed cuffs offer a comfortable fit and stay securely at the wrist. The fabric is made from durable polyester and nylon.

The back features the "umbrella yoke" design, which helps direct rainwater off the jacket, adding both functionality and style.

As the seasons shift to spring and fall, this iconic jacket is perfect for when you need a light yet stylish layer to keep you warm.

Staff comment
● Staff (165cm/52kg) Body type: Slim Wearing: Size 38 Worn over a shirt. The body width has plenty of room, and it looks like it could fit a sweatshirt underneath. The sleeve length is slightly longer, but it stays in place with the ribbed cuffs. The length is about two-thirds of the way down the hips. Overall, it’s a relaxed fit, but the short length keeps it from looking bulky. |
● Staff (171cm/61kg) Body type: Average Wearing: Size 38/40 Worn over a thick long-sleeve T-shirt. Size 38 fits just right overall. It has enough room to layer over a thin sweatshirt. The sleeve length reaches just over the back of the hand when extended. The length covers just a bit of the hips. Size 40 is slightly looser overall. It has enough room for a thick sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves are a little long, but they stay in place thanks to the ribbing. The length covers about one-third of the hips. For a more fitted look, I recommend size 38. For a looser fit, size 40 is a better choice. |
