Roots of the G9
The Miller brothers, who founded the brand, were both passionate golfers. In 1937, they created the prototype of the G9, inspired by the British Army jumper, as golf-appropriate wear. The name "G9" is derived from the word "Golf."

Founded by the Miller brothers in Manchester, UK, in 1937, BARACUTA began by creating waterproof and windproof rainwear, a revolutionary product at the time. Since the introduction of the G9 as a golf outerwear, it has become the prototype for what is now known as a bomber jacket, loved by people all over the world.
Traditional Fabric Feel Maintained
The body is made from a slightly dry cotton fabric, maintaining the vintage-inspired color palette.
The lining features a traditional tartan check pattern, adding a subtle yet stylish touch when the jacket is unzipped.
The sleeve lining is made of 100% polyester, providing a smooth fit.
Silhouette with Definition

Unchanged Details from the Past
The "dog ear" collar, named for its resemblance to a dog’s drooping ears, is an iconic detail of the G9. When the collar is raised, it creates a relaxed look, and when the buttons are fastened, it enhances wind protection.
Originally designed as golf wear, the G9 features raglan sleeves for ease of movement around the shoulders. The armholes are also wide enough to comfortably wear a wide T-shirt underneath.

Overall, it’s a relaxed fit, but the short length keeps it from looking bulky. |

The sleeve length reaches just over the back of the hand when extended. The length covers just a bit of the hips. Size 40 is slightly looser overall. It has enough room for a thick sweatshirt underneath. The sleeves are a little long, but they stay in place thanks to the ribbing. The length covers about one-third of the hips. For a more fitted look, I recommend size 38. For a looser fit, size 40 is a better choice. |
