Heavy Nylon Twill with Presence and Ease
The shell is made from 100% nylon in a heavy 2/2 twill weave. Designed for the light temperature zone, it has no insulating fill, retaining the rugged presence of a flight jacket with a lighter, cleaner profile than the MA-1. This construction makes it an easy choice for spring, autumn, and the changing seasons.
A Double-Faced Lining for Smoothness and Warmth
The double-faced lining is woven with rayon warp yarns and wool weft yarns. The smooth rayon surface allows the jacket to slip on easily, even when you are feeling warm or perspiring. The brushed wool side adds a comfortable measure of warmth to this lightweight outer layer.
Distinctive Details of the Early L-2B
Epaulettes sit on the shoulders, with flaps covering the front pockets. A triangular tab at the base of the front zipper helps protect the fastening and keep wind and rain out. These details give the early L-2B a classic character distinct from the MA-1 of the same period.
